Well I did it ... now I'm a red head. And I love it.
Friday, October 24, 2003
I think it's time for a change ... when I start feeling restless it is often time to change my hair color. At this point I really don't know what my natural color really is. I was a blonde as a little girl and as I got older my hair got darker and darker. So I started to color it bleach blonde ... then that got boring so I went for brown ... then blonde again ... then red ... then had a disaster with color and I looked list a florescent orange chicken (not a fun day) ... and now I have been black since June. But once again I am bored ... so what to do? Answer: Color my hair.

(So i'm thinking of going a little crazy with the color ... maybe something like Tarina Tarantino and then celebrate the new hair color by treating myself to some of her great hair jewelry.)

And I have been busy with holiday orders this week including a commission holiday card order for a little cutie, Garbo, as well as updating the Dogmatic Table with more of Scoutdog's friends.
<

I am still taking holiday orders ... including the packages of assorted holiday designs or you can do what Garbo's parents did and make a custom order. And just one more plug for my holiday cards ... the Peace on Earth design that I first just did for my little sister but like it so much I thought I would make if available for all.

One more announcement this Friday ... I have the greatest husband, best friend, soul mate in the world. I was feeling a little low this morning and Matt left for work and return a few minutes later with a present of flowers and the Weekly World News so that I could be up on the latest news around the world. What a great guy I have.

I love you Spanky!

First the most exciting news of the day, I have been added to Another Girl at Play. I have been inspired by all of these artists and hope that I can help another artist find her way to follow her passion.

And in addition to the ScoutDog Holiday Dog and Cat cards, there is now the Peace on Earth design for 2004 (see image above) that are for sale on the website.

ScoutDog Studios is starting the weekend early ... Matt and I just dropped off Scout the Dog at the grandparents' house and Izzy the Cat is going to be taken care of by my little sister ... so the we are free of the "kids" for the weekend.

We are now off to our first anniversary celebration weekend in the cool cabin in the mountains ... away from computers and work. it is time for a little relaxation and some reflection ... and just to enjoy being together.

But ScoutDog Studios will be back and running full speed ahead on Monday.

Have a great weekend!!!

Today is a day to slow down, be quiet and just listen to yourself. Sometimes things can just get so crazy that you end up running around, not getting anywhere and just getting frustrated. Sometimes just taking a day to slow down and listen can be more productive then continuing to work like a crazy person. ... This is the advice that I hear myself always giving to other people. So today I am going to take it myself.

To start the day of creative listening, I will definitely need some music. I will first turn my computer to KEXP, a radio station out of Seattle, and listen to John in the Morning. Definitely the best radio station that I have found online. (Right now I am rockin' out with ScoutDog and IzzyCat to the Flaming Lips with "The Test" from Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots ... one of the best albums and best concerts that I have ever been to.)

Then some yoga ... a break for a chai latte and just some sketching ... And then some creating ... no plans ... just play ... just listen to myself and go with it ... let it flow. No guilt.

Then on to 5 o'clock happy hour on the front porch with the ScoutDog, IzzyCat and a margarita ... and wait for Matt the Husband to get home from work. Then a pizza party with the Griggs family secret recipe (Maybe someday I will share it with all of you. ;) ).

Have a great day ... and just remember to take time to be quiet and listen.

Well it's been over a week since I have blogged but it has been a busy week of meeting with clients, working on commissions and getting ready for a show. Yesterday Matt and I spent the day at the 3rd Annual Highlands Dog Show. Though getting ready for and setting up at these events is a lot of work, at the end of the day I always am happy that I put the work in and attended the show. It is great to get out of the studio and my safe little world ... and interact and get feedback from other people. Also it was a lot of fun to see all the dogs and watch the dog show. I think Matt and I are going to have to get another dog ... though I am still trying to convince Matt.

And I got to show off my new ScoutDog Studios card display (see photo above) ... thanks to the great craftmanship of my dad. (And speaking of cards there are now handmade as well as print cards available on the website ... and holiday cards are now available as well. Also if you want to get cards with special dog or cat on them ... special orders are available as well.)

Well now I must go mourn the Broncos loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
