Well it seems that once again i've negected the blog for a few weeks ... but that doesn't mean we've just been watching soap operas and eatting bon-bons in front of the television. In fact the new and improved ScoutDog Studios website as well as some other side projects will launch by the end of the week. Also there will be some news about other events, new holiday products and exciting projects to announce.
Then it will be off for a much needed vacation ... strict orders from the husband that we need to take a break. ... ScoutDog Studios will be taking a road trip to San Francisco and up the coast of Oregon ... should be quite an adventure.
But we aren't gone yet ... so stay tuned for the launch of the website later this week.

Bad, Busy Blogger
So I can't believe that it has been two weeks since my last post. This summer has been extremely busy ... but a good busy. Hopefully though by the end of this week I'll have the new website launched with all of the new products ... a new design and online ordering. (Keep your paws crossed!)
But this weekend continued the busy trend of the summer. Here are the highlights ...
Saturday I had a booth at the Colorado Disc Dogs event. Also I designed the logo for the event as well (see above). If you ever have a chance to check out a disc dog event definitely do it. It is so fun to watch these dogs and their people show off their talents. It has inspired me to work on some new products and paintings featuring dogs in action.
Then it was off to my best pals bridal shower. I was in charge of organizing the games and you can see one of the results of the toliet paper wedding gown that my little sis is modeling above ... very sassy.
And Sunday was not a day of rest around here. After a morning of working and trying to catch up on some orders, my family came over in the afternoon to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday. I made the famous Griggs Pizza and enjoyed Matt's Wicked Margaritas. It was a great way to finish off the weekend.
Now it is time to get back to work. This week I'm going to try to get the new website launched as well as work on many paintings and orders for stores. Hopefully it will not be a two week drought until the next update.

K.I.S.S. ... Keep it Simple Sweetheart
Ok. I feel like I've been working like crazy and not making any progress. Some days I feel like I'm being stretched in zillion directions (from websites to paintings to store orders to brainstorming new products), trying to be everything to everyone, and not being able to say no. So the goals for the week are this ... keep it simple. make a list. focus on one task at a time. have the strength to say NO. ... It sounds so easy.
This comes after a weekend of feeling often paralyzed by a long list of products ... all that I want to do but not sure where to start. So pushed by my own impatience with myself as well as reading the daily honest inspiration from Pamela Barsky, I'm just doing to jump in and go. I always get frustrated when I read about people who won't take a risk because of fear and I realized that I've been guilty of the same thing. But it ends today. I'm going to take my own advice and give myself a good kick in the butt.
So it's off to work I go ... keep it simple ...
1. Redesign the website with new products, commission portfolio and online ordering.
2. Work on Business Strategy for the rest of the year. Work on partnership/distribution ideas. Licensing Strategy and Designs.
3. Product design. Explore new ideas. Plan for the holidays.
4. Paint, paint, paint .... and paint some more.
That's a start. Ready ... JUMP!
