Getting back to work ... Bye to summer. Hello to fall.
Matt & Jen at Ocean Beach in San Francisco
ScoutDog Studios is back from vacation and jumping back in to with all paws. We have been back for about 5 days but have been trying to catch up with all that we missed.
But the vacation/road trip was definitely worth it and one of the best vacations ever. And I think I have been converted to loving the road trip ... there is just so much you miss if you fly.
Here are some of the highlights (and there will be more crazy photos coming soon) ...
+
9 States & 4000 miles: Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana.
+
732 Subway Restaurants: There seemed to be a Subway in every town along the highway.
+
1 Near Death Experience: Matt & I rented ATVs to explore the Oregon Sand Dunes. I thought I was going to get stuck, flip it or fly off a cliff. Scary stuff but very fun in the end.
+
53 License Plates: Including U.S. States, Canada and Mexico. And the missing states ... Mississippi, Rhode Island, Delaware, Hawaii, Connecticut and New Hampshire ... not bad.
+
2 Wood-Paneled, Shaggy Carpeted Motel Rooms: It was like stepping back in time in our rooms in Weaverville, CA. and Sheridan, WY.
+
Beautiful Places (too many to count): Muir Woods; Herd of Elk; Cape Sebastian, Oregon; Bandon, Oregon; Florence, Oregon; Newport, Oregon and the sea lions ... Pretty much the entire Oregon coast! The view from the Space Needle in Seattle.
+
Countless Adventures: Paradise, CA where we did some research for my dad and found a little cemetery where Wesley Griggs is buried.
Geocaching ... we found 3! Powell's City of Books, Saturday Market under the Burnside Bridge, Nob Hill in Portland, Oregon. (We definitely want to move to Portland.) Experience Music Project in Seattle, Washington. Found the home of
KEXP and John in the Morning! 10,000 Silver Dollars and Elmer's Fountain in Montana.
And as for news from the studio ...
+
Open Studio: Come by the studio to check out some new products and place your holiday orders on Oct. 16, 2004 from Noon-5 p.m. There will be treats for people and their pooches. So come meet ScoutDog and start celebrating the holidays early.
